Favorite Things – Drinks
Here we go, Day 6 of Nicole’s Virtual Favorite Things! Late to the party? Find out what’s going on here.
I’m not going to lie, there were times that a little libation gave us the liquid courage to get through the rough patches.
I’m also going to take a few moments and thoroughly embarrass my family. My mom and dad were with my sister and her family for 81 days of quarantine. Said sister lives in Italy, in a 3 bedroom apartment. That group of people taught me how to get through a pandemic with style and grace. They also had happy hour…most nights. Their favorite wine was a box wine called: Occhio Di Tigre – Eye of the Tiger!
I would now like to share one of the videos that was shared with me. This is my sister’s husband, my dad, my mom, my sister and her sister in law.
(*Note: “Dai Angela” – doesn’t mean ‘die’, it means ‘come on Angela.” In a very, “you can do it, sort of way”.)
Oh, wasn’t that wonderful? I’m sure that made your day! I’m also sure my family is really excited I put that in the post.
Katie:
-Eye of the Tiger box wine during quarantine.
-A Gin Martini with olives. We didn’t have a shaker to make them so we repurposed my daughters sippy bottle. She did not get the bottle back, because it made a good Martini! Ha!
Brenda:
The quarantini. It’s a martini during quarantine with your quarantine partners at happy hour. Hours might have differed.
Gina:
The. Champagne. Supernova. You should look up this recipe and go make one for yourself.
-Another favorite is called an Aviation.
Amy L.:
Skrewball Peanut butter whiskey (add it to your coffee so yummy!) You can also add it to your hot chocolate or here is a Peanut Butter Cup Cocktail.
Daniell:
Bubbly or any flavored sparkling water.
Ariane:
It doesn’t sound amazing, but my favorite drink this year has been coffee. Straight. Black. Coffee. Peet’s Dark Roast House Blend has actually been a favorite this year.
Lindsay:
Getting a fun drink at Blend in Boise https://www.facebook.com/blendboise/
Amy B.:
I made Peach Blackberry Bourbon this year. Using peaches from Nicole’s peach trees. And to make it extra delightful, add a few ice cubes and a splash of diet 7up…it is so good.
Michele:
My favorite drink of 2020 is Rye Whiskey, neat. No carbs, no fuss, no BS.
Rebecca:
I discovered Chartreuse Liqueur, Luxardo Maraschino Cherries and Pama Pomegranate Liqueur- all of which are really fun to use in mixed drinks and play around with recipes.
Jeni:
I like a Rose wine!
(Did I mention Jeni let me in on the tip that CostCo Instacart delivers wine? )
Nicole:
-Anyone who knows me knows I love my cappuccinos!
I’ve tried a lot of espresso over the years, my favorite continues to be Lavazza Rossa Espresso.
-My other favorite drink this year was a homemade peach smoothie. Why? Because I have two peach tress and every year I am inundated with peaches.
What was your go to drink this year?
